7 Friendly or Romantic Things to Do in Sydney
The Land Down Under has always been so intriguing for globetrotters from all across the world. Its amazing architecture and an abundance of landmarks make it worth seeing, which is exactly what you have to do if you get a chance. Sydney is a great place for everyone, but there are also some romantic things to do in Sydney!
Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, you mustn’t miss climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge! Slip into a grey jumpsuit and start the adventure of your life – conquering the fourth-longest single-span steel arch bridge in the world. There are three main climbs: Discovery and Bridge, which are 210 minutes each, and Express, which lasts 135 minutes. Don’t worry, you’ll be secured with a belt and slider clip that hooks onto a wire and keeps you safe while moving among the beams!
Why is this one of the great couple activities in Sydney? That adrenaline rush and shared experience will surely make you feel closer as a couple! Hey, it worked in the movie Speed, right?
Enjoy the Manly Ferry ride
Sydney’s harbor is definitely one of the most gorgeous places in Sydney, and it would be pity not to explore it from a different perspective. Your trip to this wonderful place won’t be complete without stepping aboard the Manly Ferry. You’ll get a chance to visit Manly, a suburb of northern Sydney where you can take a break at one of its famous beaches and have a lunch in a warm, friendly setting. There’s something about boats and water that makes this one the the romantic things to do in Sydney.
Walk from Bondi to Coogee
If you’re up for a long walk, you’ll want to hit a track from Bondi to Coogee. An enchanting setting and interesting landmarks will make your walk worth all the effort, since you’ll get to experience a unique Aussie vibe. A cool drink and a snack will wait for you at Coogee Pavilion’s rooftop bar – you’ll love the view! Romantic walk on the beach with a fun cocktail at the end? Tell me, how is that not a great couples activity?
Explore the authentic Aboriginal heritage
Even though you probably think of Aboriginal people as of people who belong to the past, we have to say that you’re wrong! Prepare to meet Aboriginal elder Aunty Margaret Campbell, who’ll share some stories that date back to the period before colonization, when Sydney, as it is today, hasn’t existed yet. Learn about traditional practices of making fishing nets and shaping canoes, and finish off this amazing experience with kangaroo burgers and crocodile salad at the Gardener’s Lodge Cafe.
Have fun at Taronga Zoo
Taronga Zoo is really worth visiting – its wide, mesmerizing paths will lead you from one group of animals to another, you’ll see how time flies! Apart from bears, tigers, and lions, you’ll have a unique chance to see Komodo dragons, koalas, pygmy hippos, and platypuses, which are true Taronga classics. Make sure that you’re there for the bird and seal performances – these are breathtaking!
I love dates at the zoo, and that’s why this is my peak romantic things to do in Sydney activity!
Experience Sydney from above… Or not!
If you’re interested in seeing Sydney from a whole new perspective, you may want to do it from 1,000 feet above the water! Enter the six-seater aircraft with your friends or loved one and indulge in a one-of-a-kind experience. The captain will gladly show you all the landmarks, and especially the remarkable beaches Sydney is well-known for. This view at night is the epitome of romance there in Sydney.
On the other hand, if you’re not that adventurous but you still want to see all the landmarks out there, organizing a bus charter may be the right solution for you – particularly if you’re traveling with a large group of friends. Getting from location to location has never been easier and it tends to bring the group together.
Paddleboard at Camp Cove
Water sports lovers will love the fact that Australia is one of the best countries when it comes to indulging in such activities. If riding the waves is your thing, make sure that Camp Cove is on your list of things you need to see. Bursting with scuba divers, paddleboarders, and snorkelers, it’s a perfect place to unwind and let go of all your worries. Don’t forget to grab some delicious ANZAC biscuits to munch on while looking at the harbor!
I guess this one might depend on the couple, but I’ve had several friends propose underwater while scuba diving, so that’s why this also makes the list of romantic things to do in Sydney 🙂
Doing these seven things while in Sydney is definitely a must – these have so much to offer, and they will surely contribute to making some wonderful memories for a lifetime. Don’t forget to check them out of your to-do list if you ever find yourself in this breathtaking city!
Pin to save for later!
