I’m so excited to announce this safari! This safari is tied with Antarctica as my favorite trip ever!
I chose this itinerary because I’ve done it before, and I know it’s a perfect trip! It’s just a week, which means less time off work, starts and ends in same city which is easier for flights (unless you’d like to add Cape Town or Victoria Falls!) This is a co-branded trip with National Geographic! That means we’ll have nicer accommodations, more inclusions (airport pickup and more food for example), and a Nat Geo certified guide!

Itinerary
This is the basic itinerary, but we can also add some stuff before or after! Let me know if you want to come early or stay late!
Day 1 ~ May 31
The first day is just arrival in Johannesburg. Airport pickup is included! That evening, we’ll meet our local guide and kick off the trip!
Day 2 ~ June 1
Set out towards Kruger National Park via the magnificent Panorama Route, one of the world’s most picturesque drives. Make stops at the dramatic Blyde River Canyon and Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and take in panoramic views of the forest-covered valley from the God’s Window viewpoint.
Continue to our lodge near Kruger National park, savour a delicious South African Dinner in this picturesque location.
Day 3 ~ June 2
Rise early and climb aboard an open jeep for a full-day safari in Kruger National Park—home to an extraordinary array of large mammals. Spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and perhaps elusive leopards as we explore this breathtaking wilderness of savanna and scrubland. Return to our lodge in the evening, where you can take some time to relax and enjoy the nocturnal sounds of the bush.
Day 4 ~ June 3
Travel to the Karongwe Private Game Reserve, a pristine wildlife sanctuary located in the Greater Kruger area. Meet with a researcher from the Endangered Wildlife Trust’s Cheetah Range Expansion Project—a program funded in part by National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative and managed by National Geographic Explorer, Kulani Nyakane. Sit back for a lecture and learn about efforts to protect the region’s cheetahs and other carnivores. After, the researcher then joins us for a wildlife-viewing excursion through the reserve.
Day 5 ~ June 4
Spend the day exploring Karongwe on morning and afternoon safaris with our local guides. Search for Africa’s famed “big five” as we drive through the shrublands of the bushveld. Back at camp, relax on deck or take a walk around the grounds.
Day 6 ~ June 5
Embark on one last safari this morning, keeping a lookout for Karongwe’s iconic inhabitants. Then head back to the city, where you’ll enjoy dinner in our lodge.
Day 7 ~ June 6
Depart at any time. You can go back to airport to fly home, o
Deposit
The deposit is $350! Also, these are LIFETIME deposits, so if something comes up between now and then and you can’t go? No worries, that deposit is good for any trip with G Adventures forever, so your money is safe!
Payments
After deposit, the payments are up to you! You can wait until full payment is due on April 1, 2025. Or you can chunk it every few months. Or can do a monthly payment. Very flexible. Payments are collected by G and remain with G, so again your money is safe!
What’s Included?
Once the tour starts, all transportation is included! We’ll also have a local guide who can help us with history, food, language, and hopefully the wildlife we’ll be seeing!
Accommodations are also included on a twin share basis unless you wanted to upgrade to get your own room (only 2 of those are available). They’re all at nice lodges, with the private game reserve is the nicest! My room had a shower that opened out to the Savannah and I could see animals walking by!
If you’re a couple or traveling with a friend, you can be paired up with them, if you’re solo, then we’ll match you with someone of your gender.
A Safari Journal! It’s not officially out yet, but it will be soon! It’s very similar to my Antarctica Journal!
Optional Extras
You can add on Cape Town and/or Victoria Falls on to the tour. Or if you wanted to add a different place, I’m happy to help!
Perks of Coming with Me!
Well, besides really terrible puns and my forever-long list of fun facts I’ll randomly share… But I like to think I’m a pretty good photographer! I’ve got my fun 360 camera that takes epic pics like these (from Antarctica)
So you’re welcome to the pics that I take of landscapes and us, but I’m also willing to help you take silly and fun pics of yourself. For example, I sometimes bring a fun skirt for quick photoshoots! Just pops on over other clothes and takes no time at all!
And of course, because I’m a travel agent, and I’ve traveled a lot… I’ll take care of everything! All you need to do is show up and everything is handled! I’ll help with flights, insurance, packing list, and anything else you need! Also here are some testimonials 🙂
Flights
Flights aren’t included, but happy to help you find a good flight price.
Airport transfers
Included for airport pickup, and it depends for airport dropoff.
