Hey there, fearless solo explorer! 🌍 Ready to take the leap and discover the world on your own terms? Let me tell you about G Adventures’ brand-new travel style created exclusively for solo travelers like you called Soloish!
This isn’t just any old group tour—this is G Adventures going back to their roots, fostering real connections between like-minded travelers. If you’ve ever dreamed of making lifelong friends while seeing the world, this is your golden ticket.
G Adventures has been a global operator for years with no solo supplement, lifetime deposits, and local guides… but over the years… more than just solo travelers started coming along (which is great!), but G wanted to have a style JUST for people who love the thrill of being alone… but still with people. It’s a different experience!
Now I’ve been with G Adventures on a few travel styles like Classic (Jordan, Colombia, Belize/Guatemala), Marine (Antarctica), and National Geographic (South African safari), but this is a new travel style… so let’s dive into what makes this one special!
Why This Travel Style Is Different (and Better for Solos)
Here’s the scoop: G Adventures offers a variety of tour styles, and while those are fantastic, they cater to everyone—solo travelers, couples, friends, families. That means you’re often in a mixed group with different dynamics. Which again, can be great, but if that’s not what you’re looking for, …. But with this new Solo Travel style? It’s just solo travelers.
Think about it: Everyone in the group is flying solo, just like you. This creates an amazing vibe where everyone’s on the same wavelength—ready to connect, share experiences, and make memories together. It’s like an instant travel tribe! This is great for people who worry about connecting if everyone already has a travel buddy… everyone is on the same page with soloish!
G Adventures is doubling down on their original mission: connecting people through travel. This isn’t about just seeing the sights—it’s about meaningful connections. Whether you’re swapping life stories over dinner, cheering each other on during an epic hike, or laughing about your failed attempts at salsa dancing, these tours are designed to foster real friendships.
Airport Pickup Included (Because You Deserve to Start Stress-Free)
Picture this: You’ve just landed in a new country. You’re a little jet-lagged, maybe hungry, and now you’re faced with the daunting task of figuring out how to get to your hotel. Well, guess what? G Adventures has you covered! Every soloish tour includes a complimentary airport pickup. No awkward haggling with taxi drivers, no fumbling with Google Translate to figure out the local bus system. Just step off the plane, and someone’s there to greet you with a smile and whisk you off to start your adventure. Easy peasy. ✈️

Female CEOs (Chief Experience Officers): Your Ultimate Guide
Let’s talk about the incredible women who’ll be leading your journey—G Adventures’ female Chief Experience Officers (CEOs). These ladies are more than just tour guides; they’re your local experts, travel mentors, and all-around superheroes. From helping you navigate cultural quirks to sharing insider tips about the best local eats, they’re there to ensure you have the trip of a lifetime. And honestly, who doesn’t love a little girl power on the road? 💪

Want Your Own Space? No Problem
While these tours are all about connecting with others, sometimes you just need a little “me time,” right? G Adventures totally gets it. That’s why they offer the “My Own Room” option—so you can have your private space without blowing your budget. It’s perfect for recharging after a day of adventures and socializing.
If you’re open to being paired with someone of the same gender, no problem because that’s still free. But if you want to upgrade to have your own room, there are more options for that and it’s cheaper than the Classic tours.
Solo Travel That Feels Social, Not Lonely
The beauty of this new travel style is that it balances independence with community. You’re traveling solo, but you’re never really alone. Whether you’re exploring ancient ruins, sipping cocktails at a rooftop bar, or tackling an epic hike, you’ve got a group of solo adventurers right by your side. It’s a mix of camaraderie and freedom that’s hard to beat.
Dinner Party, We Day, Me Day, G Day
Every soloish trip will have these four items. The itineraries are front-loaded with experiences to help the group bond and feel like fast friends!
Dinner Party: All G tours have a welcome meeting which often take shape with a dinner. But the Soloish ones will go a step further. It’s not an experiential dinner party! You will likely have a cooking class with the group to learn about the local food, and also have fun together.
We Day: Every Soloish tour is going to have a We day, where the whole group does something together! This is something that generally happens on any travel style anyway, but it just follows the cute names lol. This is generally the second day as well, again fostering a sense of community.
Me Day: This is really an open day! The CEOs will provide options and you’re welcome to strike out on your own or in small clumps with your new friend! Maybe the whole group will go anyway, who knows! Very choose your own adventure.
G Day: This is going to be the day where G Adventures really tries to knock your socks off with a “I can’t believe we did that” moment! G has a level of pageantry that I just love, so this will be location specific but designed to surprise and delight!
In Common with Other G Travel Styles
Most of this has been what’s different, but I think it’s important to note what’s still the same. So if you’re familiar with G, you can expect these to still be the case for Soloish too.
- Lifetime deposits ~ Those babies are guaranteed! Such a relief to not have to worry about non-refundable deposits. Not here! They’re good forever on any trip with them anywhere… always 🙂
- Local Guides ~ So important to me to use local guides!
- Planeterra Projects ~ If G’s non-profit has a project in the area, you might get to see the community tourism in action!
- Small group sizes ~ Usually 12-16 except for specific trips, but yes still expect that small group vibe. I remember being on a tour with 50 people once. Ugh, never again.
- Ripple Score ~ G puts a score on their tours to show you what percent of the profit stays in the local community.
- Trees planted ~ For every day you’re on tour, you’ll have a tree planted in your honor!
- Loyalty Program ~ G’s new loyalty program called the Great Adventurers Club still counts for Soloish!
A Final Word for Solo Travelers
If you’ve been putting off traveling because you didn’t want to go alone or were worried about being the odd one out in a mixed group, this new travel style is calling your name. It’s all about connecting solo travelers, making travel stress-free (hello, airport pickup!), and creating a vibe where everyone feels included and inspired.
So, what are you waiting for? The world is out there, ready for you to explore it. Pack your bags, bring your sense of adventure, and get ready to meet your new travel family. G Adventures has just reinvented solo travel—and trust me, you’re going to love it. 🌟
Keep in Mind: This is a brand new tour style as of Jan 2025, and no trips have gone yet. So this is all based on my G Adventures Agent Training, webinars, and info from my G Adventures contacts.
